RIM Increasingly Drowned Between Smartphone

Research In Motion (RIM) and BlackBerry product line has long been a leader of the smartphone industry. However, since Apple and Google started investigating the industry, the prestige of RIM worse off. Moreover, the emergence of IOS and Android-based devices has changed the focus of the smartphone market towards mobile applications and user interface touch screen is interesting.

The weakening of RIM in the smartphone market is reflected in the report first quarter fiscal year 2012. The report shows an increase in revenues of 16%, but earnings per share and net income declined compared to the first quarter of the previous fiscal year. Jim Balsillie, Co-CEO of RIM, said that this decline will be felt until the second quarter because of a delay in the launch of some of their products until the end of August 2011.

BlackBerry Bold 9900 is one of RIM's pending product launch time. Thinnest BlackBerry smartphone is equipped with touch screen measuring 2.8 inches which allows internet browsing activities, enjoy multimedia content, and play games. RIM reportedly has been marketed as much as 13.2 million BlackBerry smartphones and tablet Playbook 500 thousand in the quarter.
