 Story
Crysis 2 will be set in the city of New York in 2023, where residents have been evacuated because of an alien invasion. Similar to the first game, Crysis 2 will present the features of freedom in customizing weapons and various types of strength. Crytek as the developer does not want to wear a background of forest anymore, they want a different game, but still does not eliminate the impression of the forest complex, so you could say New York City setting is the "urban jungle".

You'll play as the "Alcatraz", a unit of Delta Force operators, replacing the "Nomad", from the first game. You will encounter an alien who is more complicated and difficult, they can change shape into a creature that is very scary.

Crytek claims that Crysis 2 will have the system requirements that are lighter than the first game, and will also support stereoscopic 3D

Nanosuit 2
Redesign Crytek has Nanosuit, called Nanosuit 2. Nanosuit 2 has newer features and upgrades that do not possess in his first suit. Now you can combine power with a very effective fashion.

Multiplayer
Crysis 2 brings modern FPS multiplayer into the future warfare arena, with gameplay centered around giving each individual player the power of the Nanosuit. Crysis 2 multiplayer is based on the war between Nanosuit wearing military personnel and C.E.L.L. (Crynet Enforcement & Local Logistics).

All 12 multiplayer maps are set in Crytek’s stunning re-creation of New York city with level design geared to take full advantage of different Nanosuit powers. The game will feature 6 modes giving players a diverse amount of choices, including Crash Site and Team Instant Action. Furthermore, Crysis 2 multiplayer will feature deep progression and long term rewards for players, experience, Nanosuit and weapons upgrades.
